Literally forcing myself to read this I’m so bored with these characters. No one acts like an actual person who is their actual age.

Erin Henry is starting Theo of Golden
A book that looks at finding beauty in life. I liked the main characters appreciation of the arts. But the book was just so slow and the twist at the end was so abrupt I didn’t really care about it.

Erin Henry is starting Ask of Old Paths: Medieval Virtues and Vices for a Whole and Holy Life
I will say in the past I have rolled my eyes at the language of virtue. But when explained well teaching on virtue and vice would be helpful I believe. I found each chapter inspiring and convicting. I especially appreciated her point that it isn’t a checklist or way to earn favor with God but a path to walk along through life.

That was fascinating. He presents snake-handlers in a sympathetic, otherworldly light while not minimizing the dangers or the sins of the people he is interviewing.

Erin Henry is starting Being God's Image: Why Creation Still Matters
4.5 It is basic and yet profound. I want to read all on this trilogy. She explains big concepts easily and supports them with Scripture. Being God’s Image details what it means to be God’s image bearer. How does it affect and change us, how does sin distort it and how it should influence the world around us.

Erin Henry is starting I Guess I Haven't Learned That Yet: Discovering New Ways of Living When the Old Ways Stop Working
If you’ve been through a big transition in life or are entering your 40s this is the book for you. I feel like I had a big transition in my 30s and so had learned a lot of these lessons already. But hearing her life reinforces the importance of community, simple joys, daily healthy habits and how faith intertwines with your life. I enjoyed the audio book which she reads.

Kinda an American Frederick Bauchmann. Hurt people find found family and turn themselves around in a good way.

Erin Henry is reading The Conspiracists: Women, Extremism, and the Lure of Belonging
That was a fascinating read. I could not put it down. The author details how and why white, middle-age women are falling for conspiracy theories. She follows two women as they seem to live normal lives and then become very online and fall into conspiracy theories. Both women have significant trauma in their past, and the author does believe this place into the reasons they are prone to believing in conspiracy theorie

This book needs some serious trigger warnings. So traumatizing! Also I don’t know what Christians the author has met cause the ones in her book are terrifying.

Only a little way into it and already really don’t like it. They seem like sad, lonely; disturbed people. Not for me.

I’m on book 3 of this series and still can’t tell you the difference between Daeva, Djinn, and ifrit. Which is a problem cause all three factions are fighting.
