I’m hoping they address her alcoholism soon but not loving it

I’m not loving it at the moment, I dont know if that’s because I had really high expectations for it or if we’re just not in the thick of it yet. I usually love translated fiction especially japanese fiction but so far it’s not hitting the way i thought it would/the way i wanted it too ://

I'm now up to Chapter 11, and I'm loving it, the way that McKenna creates this vivid description of life in London and the social dynamics and tensions between the different characters within this space. I also really like the queer storyline with Phil and Ed, just it all in general!!

I’ve finished Chapter 2 and although there are a host of different characters being introduced, they have their own distinct voices from section to section - additionally the way that they all connect to one other but remain with these distinct voices is really well done. So far it’s definitely giving an overcrowded, overheated summer vibe perfect for reading right now!
