as if it couldn't get any worse the main character has sex with her husband after having a C-section because she "couldn't wait". the text actually reads that them having sex actually hurts her. this is ridiculous. again, the main character has no redeemable qualities at all.

never read a book with such a casual bathroom abortion scene. there is no reason why scenes like this need to exist in literature when so many women deal with real miscarriages. verity has lost all my respect as a character and how hoover gets away with writing new books after this is beyond me. i will probably give this one star. how tf is the movie going adapt this source material
