Art may be pretentious at times, but this book certainly is not! Less than 25% into Still Lives, and I find the main character to be very down to earth. (Homemade Pie anyone!) I'm so happy the Sunshine Book Club introduced me to this author.

Meredith is starting The Radium Girls: The Dark Story of America’s Shining Women

This one is getting returned to the library. As horrifying as the subject matter is, I did find it interesting, just really depressing. I may come back to it in the future, or just do my own reading on the subject. I also found the narrator a bit dull. Every 'page' sounded the same.
