UGH ITS SO GOOD

It’s good so far. I definitely remember some of this from when I read it years ago in middle school, but it’s interesting to see it all again

I am really liking the writing style of this book

Dante is such a cute character, despite his flaws. He is very well spoken and is much more sophisticated than many of the 17-year-olds that I know in my life. It saddens me that he feels the way that he does about Ari and Cassandra's relationship.

This book evokes such emotion in me.

I can't help but think about how I could have had these same experiences given I was born in a different area. But alas I was dealt a shitty hand and was born in area that is not accepting of those like me. And that puts those that are like me in much the same boat, except that we are all in different boats, separated from each other by the fear of rejection and retaliation.

I hope to, one day, be as in love as Ari and Dante are with each other.

The progression of this book, while comforting in the sense that it has many parallels with my own life with relation to self discovery (particularly with sexuality), it also brings me great sadness because Ari and Dante have something that is so special. I suppose my emotions towards this book are really less of sadness and more of jealousy because they have something that is, for me, unobtainable. At least for now.

I love this book so far. It is nice to see Ari think the way that I did (and sometimes still do). Can't wait to discover more of Ari and Dante's relationship.
