Good ol' Brandon - more of the same. But in a good way. I now see that huge chunks of Stormlight Archive are remixes of this series. But it was all supposed to fit together so no big surprise (or blame) there.

Promising. They seem to have found the right mix - a unique locale that less mysterious elements combine with a mix of old and new characters. Willing to kill some old ones too!

Entertaining tale so far; lots of social history I didn't know so far on "Moving Day" and such traditions.

Fun enough. Junk food for the mind, but well cooked.

Not since Dance to the Music of Time or perhaps Swann's Way have I felt so good skipping several pages of a book over and over again just to get to the end.

Just need to get the book back. Haven't given up (entirely)...

I'm invoking my "I can rate it if I read 51%" rule and stopping. I was curious about the genre. It's not novel. It's mature YA.

And now I know after chapter 30. Stopping here, unrated.

Future me: don't read more.
