A beautifully tragic (or tragically beautiful) story of an obituary writer who, after accidentally and drunkenly publishes his own hikariously fabricated obituary, learns a heavy lesson in life and living. I mean, how could I resist reading and then loving such a wild, poignant, affirming novel!

This book is an absolute joy so far. A perfect kick-back read for Trek fans. I am deeply in love with the "podcasters in 2024 investigate the mysterious 1986 disappearance of that renowned cetacean biologist and assistant director to the Maritime Cetacean Institute, Dr Gillian Taylor." So. Many. Dopamine. Spikes.

So far, this book has been SO F-ING GOOD. So much intrigue. So many weird personalities. I love this kind of storytelling where you just learn more and more about a character's deeply flawed psychology.

I came to this book with zero expectations and have been really enjoying it. I love the familiarity of the characters. The not holding back. The sensuality. It's a refreshing change from what I've been reading

Murderbot is my spirit animal! I need to read more from Martha Wells' not-murderbot oeuvre.

So far, this is Rachel Hawkins at her best. I'm truly captivated by this story!
