3.5 so far, nothing crazy but I think the romance is fun.

The main characters' hate-eachother-but-definitely-will-end-up-together dynamic are kinda giving Pru and Quint from Instant Karma.

“He snorts. “You know what the chances are of getting attacked by a shark?”
“Twelve people die every year!” I spout, recalling the statistic from that poster.
“Out of how many billion people on the planet?”
“Yeah, but how much do your odds increase when you actually go swimming in water with sharks in it?”
“Prudence, I will protect you from the sharks.””

“Oh God,” Irene muttered under her breath. “You finally decided to get together? A day before your mutual destruction? Jesus Christ. How Shakespearean of you two.”

That was actually a really good plot twist that I didn’t predict wow.

The vibes and visuals are great, but some of the world building doesn’t make sense. I get the school’s super old, but why are students who have been there for decades still considered “newbies” who don’t know anything. Like you’re telling me in literal decades they haven’t settled in the slightest. Also if students are there for 100s of years before leaving, how on earth do they have enough classes.

Liking this so far, very dark academia and the banter is good. Also very clearly inspired by HP in places.

I’m really enjoying this so far. The huge time skips every now and then are like random whiplash, but I don’t even mind, I don’t wanna stop reading.

My prime suspect was Matty, but now I think it’s Dylan. Zoey’s too obvious.

Hmm writing’s a bit juvenile, but I’m intrigued.

STOPP he may not haunt the narrative, but he haunts MY narrative. Why am I being reminded of something I suffered through in year 9.

Can’t believe Clare just popped him into a dream like that and then he’s gone again a page later like it’s nothing.
