Mystery was interesting, I love the Seelie Court setting and all the types of fey, and these characters are some of my favorites from all of TSC.

Zachary’s Day Out: 3.5 stars

This was fun, but I’m not super invested in Thomas as a character. I liked the story though.

Who the Wolf Loves: 4 stars

Lowering the previous one to 3.5 because this was better. I’m very pleasantly surprised, I did not think I’d care about Luke x Jocelyn but honestly I see Luke in a new light. Also I’d completely forgotten about the Circle lore, why did I have no recollection of him being Valentine’s parabatai.

This one’s better than I expected.

Matthew… the interconnections are one of the best parts of Shadowhunter books.

Kinda nervous the next one’s gonna be boring, I have zero investment in Jocelyn x Luke and apparently it’s a letter and not even a story.

The Beautiful Ajatara: 4 stars
This was honestly pretty fun and veryy meta- at some points it felt like Clare was speaking directly to readers, especially those who complained about certain character deaths (including me). It was more Lucie focused than Herondaisy? But Lucie/Jesse don’t have a story in this so oh well.

Actually another thing? Will is not stupid, even though he likes to act like it. As if he would wake up without half of his memories and be like lol I must’ve done that on purpose 🤷🏻‍♂️

Also random but somehow I don’t remember Ragnor Fell in TID? Or maybe I just associate him with TMI because the scene where Raphael is texting him is the most tragic scene in all of literature.

The Good Storm: 2.5 stars
Wessa my loves you have been done so dirty by your story 🥲 After Jem left Tessa was like “ok I’ll just try to make him really happy so he’ll want to get his memories back.” YOUR HUSBAND AKA the WILL HERONDALE HAS NO IDEA WHO YOU ARE where’s the devastation?!

I have NEVER before read a Will/Tessa/Jem story that hasn’t resulted in me violently crying. So I’m shocked to report that I’m annoyed? You mean to tell me that Will made a wish and in the process forgot the most important people in his life, and Jem comes to investigate and is like “wow that’s so sad, nothing I can do though because it was his choice, ok bye” WHATTT. WHAT?? Can we be so serious rn.

After this and Secrets of Blackthorn Hall, I will finally be completely caught up for The Last King of Faerie in November 😌 Also the quote this title comes from used to literally be my computer wallpaper in year 10 so... this better be good.

She clearly has another secret we don’t know and my guess is she’s the one that killed the king.

Since when did all his friends also know that she has magic, is that not also ultra secret.

You’re telling me the leader of the ultra mega secret cult is allowing the main character to be initiated without even asking who it is under the cloak?

You’re telling me a historical secret society collecting ancient knowledge and texts doesn’t already have a single translator? Ok.

Kole is the best character, everyone else is intolerable.

So you’re telling me they hate each other enough that she literally punches him in the face in a courtyard in front of everybody, and then they’re randomly engaged the next day with no explanation and not a single person’s suspicious? Yeah ok, I just don’t believe it.

The vibes are immaculate- I really like the world, where an entire kingdom is stuck inside the castle walls due to poisonous mists outside. The characters are good. But the story just doesn't seem that thought through. Things are just happening for the sake of the plot or to push in a popular trope, and it's not believable or the logic doesn't follow. You're telling me the evil prince has 2 wholesome friends? As if.

Snow-white haired bully holding an apple… I’m sensing a Draco variant.

My prediction is 4.5 stars.
