Oh wow this is a crazy one

My colonoscopy prep audiobook 🫣💩

Woke up at 4am and read half this book. Ugh. The linguistic aspect is interesting but pretty much everything else is yucky and needs more development to at least produce logical characters? (im just a shy, brainy, wuss of girl who got a tattoo to prove the haters wrong but snuck vodka into school as a preteen and had an underage affair with an old man who admits being a pedophile but we’re never gonna address it)

Still loving this, my middle school Twilight Zone fascination is coming back

The audiobook is so UNSETTLING i had to switch to another book for bedtime

Man this guy really hates cattle

Bought for indie bookshop week and omg I can’t put it down

Some fun plot twists, but perhaps there were too many bread crumbs leading me to the whole loaf ages and ages ago

Feeling less and less compelled by the story the more I get into it

Not setting right that learning that a character who died years ago was pregnant sends the main character into a spiral

Perhaps too cozy. I keep forgetting which shopkeeper in a small town with a surprising backstory is which!

Uhhhhhh why suddenly have we reached a plot point about the main character's Longterm Tramatic Illness that has not even been teased up until the halfway point???

Scary books before bed are Not It

This is my unscary treat

A documentary but in a book. I can’t put it down

When will the settlers learn to stop shooting the bears!?!

Started this book in February and coming back to it! I’ve been thinking about the characters a lot in the meantime - high expectations for Leigh Bardugo!

After the barf moment of him "saving her" by blowing air into her mouth while they were hiding from the crocodile underwater, I don't think I can recover. Too icky

Got it back from the library! Let's actually finish it this time!

Read the part about the stupid government dude stealing her ring and I was so mad I couldn't fall asleep

Just a little treat to help get through comps

Just realized I can charge my kindle with the new phone charger - this is a game changer for motivating myself to read in bed but the kindle is on 5% and its charger is just so far away...

Dnf at 25%

I really really tried. But it’s just a whole list of who knows who and who is related to who and why someone lives in a house and why they aren’t a fruit salesperson. Too many proper nouns and anecdotes I don’t care about.

Squeezing in a last few books in 2024!

Got off the hold list to actually finish this time!

WHY can I not commit to this book this is the third time I've started reading it

Eww that man is like 150 yrs older than her???? Enemies to lovers but in the worst way

I can't tell if this guy did a ton of research for the book or just really likes holes

Idk how I picked this up while knowing nothing about it but it’s a shock to the system and this seems like such a reading experience

I knew this book was supposed to be narrated by death, but gosh, death is so darn annoying
