I’m about to start chapter 14 and I’m putting this down. I like the writing, the premise, the world building, but I picked this up expecting extreme horror and I don’t think it is. It feels more like a fantasy story with some horror elements. Unfortunately my patience has run out, the story and characters have not grabbed me enough that I need to know what happens next, so I’m DNFing this.

What's worst: well, this one, so far. This one is the worst. There was nothing scary or "hardcore" about this, just psychological horror that builds to a very unsatisfying ending. It felt like the author was either parodying the genre or had no idea how to write it, so he settled for edgy jokes instead. The character's insanity was fun, though, I'll give him that. 2/5.

Reborn: this is the kind of story I was hoping for. Fun read, although the writing style was not my favorite. Either 3/5 or 4/5.

So far I must say these stories are not what I expected from a "hardcore horror" collection, they seem more like regular horror or thriller to me.

Awakening: Absurd and funny, but very abrupt ending. 3/5.

Readings off the charts: Biggest disappointment so far. Started off promising, but as soon as things get interesting it just ends. 2/5.

Read about 10 % and I'm giving this one a break for the time being. I find the writing to be pretty dry and it feels a bit too much like a textbook for my taste. I find myself having to push through without much enjoyment. It's also the third history book in a row for me now, which is plenty for me.
I might come back to it another day.

Inte dålig, men ojämn och känns som en enda gigantisk prolog. Rätt nära slutet (sid 364) men nu är den väldigt seg och jag har tappat tålamodet.

Inne på sjunde kapitlet och nu ger jag upp. Det känns som att läsa en gigantisk kemi- och fysikuppsats. Det faktum att rymdresor inte är speciellt intressant för mig gör inte saken bättre. Otroligt tråkig läsning.

fastnat nånstans i kapitel 10. jag vet inte om det är innehållet eller berättarens röst, men det är otroligt sövande och långtråkigt att lyssna på emellanåt. det var intressantare i början.

jag är en bit in på kapitel 6 och väntar fortfarande på att nåt intressant ska hända. jag håller på att somna varje gång jag läser så jag tror inte det här är för mig.

I'm about 50 pages in or so, and it's pretty good so far, but I just can't get into a new fantasy series right now. this'll have to wait

I'm about 100 pages in and yet again reminded of why I stopped reading SK. I can't stand his neverending rambling right now, maybe I'll come back to this some day.

Antar att det är meningen att det här ska vara början på finalen men det är fruktansvärt segt nu. Orkar inte fortsätta.

Har precis läst klart kap 5, hyfsat intressant men för tillfället är jag mer nyfiken på annat så jag kommer återkomma till den här vid ett senare tillfälle.
