I absolutely loved being part of Miles’s world and experiencing alongside her early 20th C life for young, ambitious , female authors.

Kerrie Davies has masterfully blended biography, history and a bit of ‘imagined fiction’ to make this book a seamless read.

Highly recommended for anyone interested in Australian literary and the early days of feminism in Australia and USA.

This book ticked all my boxes - set in Umbria ( in an area I know quite well) , family history, general history, intrigue and evocative narrative.
