loaned to one of my fav teachers *right* before covid when i was almost done. bittersweet -- read kindle vers and was a bit underwhelmed by the ending as it felt a bit predictable, but i enjoyed reading and going back go this book

I can’t wait to find out what Celine does with her memories returning. Also, what will Michael do? And what will Bastien do in retaliation?

I’ve always not liked Michael but is it possible to dislike a character this much? I understand that Celine wanted to have her memories erased, but it’s not right for him to take advantage of that. I also like how we -finally- get some real background information on Bastien’s past. I do hope that Celine gets her memories back as soon as possible. Though I love how inquisitive she is about her surroundings.

So far I really like it, I feel kind of nostalgic diving back into the word of Celine. The description of New Orleans is vivid as ever and I’m excited to see the conflict between Michael and Bastien evolve.
