There is so much tension and uncertainty for Rafe and Ben. Poor Ben seems to have no one else, whilst Rafe can still call his bestie.

Konigsberg once again has me hooked by his character's voice which is both realistic and endearing. I'm excited to continue.

An interesting start with a twisted antagonist (and his wife). The lesbian side story seems unnecessary, but definitely gives the protagonist more depth and opportunity for awkward humor.

Have Ben and Rafe reached a point of no return in their relationship? Is eros and agape supposed to entertwine? Can Ben be so explorative? Does he *know* Rafe's label?

excellent build up of suspense.

Holly's journal is jam-packed with her "adventure" as a sea gypsy. I am enjoying reading her observations and her poetic efforts even though her story as an orphan who escaped the failed foster care system is one that hurts my heart.

Where are the quote marks? Sometimes I can't distinguish dialogue from text.

That description about Alex's addiction is incredible. Now I need to know if my prediction is accurate...

Interesting that Theo is given such a strong presence in the novel. Thus far it is more about him and his backstory than Alicia. However, I love Alicia's journal which seems to do more speaking than a break from her silence ever will. It's not the suspense that I expected, but it definitely has my interest.

Although I was hardly expecting the supernatural shift, I continued to enjoy how John was developing. The build up of Mr. Monster is a great hook for future installments of the trilogy.

And suddenly I realize this is a science fiction novel... hello plot twist.

This was a difficult read. When I finally got into the storyline and characters, the end of the book was near. I wish it'd been pushed forward faster, as the offspring were far more interesting than Lillith.
