I am not that far in, but I resonate with some of the reviews that have discussed the wordiness of the writing.

If amygdla is defined one more time in this book I am going to really start believing the author doesn't trust the reader to retain what has been written. Given the unnecessarily long drawn out explanations (which really is starting to feel like an effort to reach a word count) may be exactly the point.

DNF. Not sure how this book has such a high rating with the way people of colour and woman are portrayed. If I had read the authors tweets before picking this up, I would have given it a miss.

So far I have been pleasantly surprised by the final book in the series. I have also found myself asking how I didn’t see some of this when reading the first seven books. I would definitely recommend reading rereading the first seven books before jumping into its conclusion just based on what has been revealed this far.
