i’m only in chapter 1, and i’m already feeling frustrated listening to this book and recounting my own story of “reconstruction” surgery for my breast reduction. all the tiny frustrations i had before, during, and post-op that i dismissed as “that’s just the medical field” and not a deeper root of a male doctor not asking my permission to pull my dissolvable stitches out when they weren’t dissolving.
