Pleasant, sweet story. Fairy tale quality.

Listening to audiobook but following in print book with illustrations.

“You can’t have shadows without light” Quote from Alfred, gifted to author by her daughter.

Oh no, it’s almost over! I want to know how it resolves, but I don’t want it to end. I love the characters.

What a complicated, sweet and sorrowful life Fred is living!

Another good one! “If you could manufacture that smile, lighting shops would go broke.”

Another great one: “Unlike the suave jacket and pants, jealousy didn’t suit him. So he took it off.”

Pleasant book but can be sad.

Grief is love with nowhere to go.

Is this where we are headed? AI controlling everything and everyone in the name of peace?

Sweet and scary at the same time

Granddaughter teachers how to laugh forever.

Wanted to read this before seeing the movie!

I’m enjoying all of the different stories.

“Once you learn how to die, you learn how to live.”

A cruise means lots of reading!!

“Love always wins.” A favorite quote so far. Was I as good a teacher as Morrie? Do former students, from years past who no longer communicate with me, think of me as a Mitch thinks of Morrie?

Lindbergh defeats Roosevelt. No third term for him! The Jews are vilified. Lindbergh loves Hitler. Somehow this seems so like today.

Scary and unsettling, but there is hope. Will the truth set us free?

I needed to stop the audiobook to write down the titles of books suggested by the author. But it was a pleasure to do so.

Preaching to the choir! I’ve always respected trash men and custodians at work.

Stories of the workers.

The snake! The fox! My old friends.

“Such a secret place, this land of tears.” My heart is aching once more the Little Prince and his rose.
