I like Jenna's story, but Noah is giving vibes of broken, desperate, unemployed man, hoping this amazing, successful, compassionate woman will fix him.

Every single character is this book is complex and somewhat relatable, but man is it hard to like any of them. Especially Percy Like seriously, what the hell is her problem??

It feels like almost all of the footnotes with extra information could have just been incorporated into the text.

Madelleine's story is interesting, but I'm so over Oliver's story. It's just cruel and so hard to believe that no one bothered to confirm his identity beyond his name before shipping him off to Australia.

I'm not sure I'll be continuing with this book. It's just not grabbing my attention. Also, a bunch of men (it's all men... no women mentioned anywhere as wreck divers) competing to dive to and identify a German U-boat, especially the excitement around finding artifacts with swastikas on them, just feels really distasteful right now.

I find it extremely hard to believe that, even in war, no one bothered to confirm with Oliver his school name or parents'/grandparents' names, have a distant relative of the dead kid identify Oliver, or have Madelleine or her father identify Oliver's alleged body. Absolutely infuriating mismanagement.

This book is unapologetically queer and I love it. People in this world are often gay or bi and there's zero shame surrounding it. Chef's 💋.
Also this book is 🌶 almost from the get-go.

I keep waiting for this book to get interesting, but it's just a lot of these 3 women passively relying on men to help them out, even though these men all suck and don't listen to them and are extremely selfish & unhelpful.

The more things disappear, the weirder and bleaker this world gets, and I love it. Ogawa had to use some serious imagination to figure out what a world would be like without this thing or that concept, and what would forgetting look and feel like.

One thing I keep wondering about is why no one in this story is named, except the dog (Don). It makes it even eerier.

This book is addictive! I love the mystery vibe on top of the fantasy and developing romance.

Syrah has some really screwed up priorities. Your father is critically ill in the hospital, but an impending faerie war and your long-lost homicidal maniac brother are more important.

So far this book is... fine? The plot is predictable, although the characters' choices are not. I'm waiting for something more exciting to happen

I keep hoping this gross, inappropriate relationship will fall apart in lieu of something healthier and more appropriate (what about that sweet restaurant owner who was flirting with her?). At 3/4 done, though, it's looking doubtful.

Is Lea really lusting after a man 12 years her junior, who's still in college, and who is clearly interested in someone else closer to his age? Ewwwwwww.
