I like when she describes what they're eating, but I wish she would go into more detail on how it tastes.

Chapter 10.

Her toes peeks out from her dress and he has a sudden urge to kiss it. Ew.

For someone who wanted to keep her distance from James, Blaire certainly get close to him when they're alone in her room. Something I believe she should not be at all comfortable with given the timeframe.

The author cannot stop saying how amazing Blair is.

Blaire's ignorance and overconfidence is frustrating, unless it comes back to bit her (no pun intended) in the ass later. Inviting two weird strangers into their home, with no concern for their safety because she's a witch who thinks she can take the world on. Hopefully there is character development here, otherwise this is dumb. Character's like Carol Danvers in 2019 Captain Marvel are obnoxious and boring

For a family aware of the supernatural, they have little to no concern at all about a strange man who has a horrible excuse for being stuck in a cellar for 10 years

In chapter 8, when James is lying about how he ended up in the castle basement, Blaire asks him if one of the women he saw looked like her. And he said yes, one was nearly identical. When he asked how to find this witch, she said she didn't know any witches that looked like her, she was just curious. Why in the hell would she be randomly curious to know if any of the witches looked like her? No sense

The first time James comes onto Blaire in the bathroom, she acts like nothing happened afterwards. Doesn't run him out of the castle, doesn't tell her brother, nothing. Just acts like nothing happened. How does that even make sense?

I think it's dumb the way James goes after Blaire and tries to have sex with her the first chance he gets. He's starving, hasn't fed in at least a decades, but, somehow, still has the energy to try to have sex?
Again, idk if it's because he's a vampire and can seduce every woman he sees, but I think it's ridiculous that he just assumes he can have his way with Blaire with no concern with her saying no.

*Blaire feels to much like Rey from Star Wars, perfect at everything except the awkward romantic feelings she has for James. They way she just seems to crumble before him when she first sees him in chapter 6 feels corny. Not sure if it's supposed to be because he's a vampire and he has that affect on all women, or if it's because they're supposed to become enthralled with each other.

* A bit repetitive. Uses the sentence "She couldn't quite make out his words, but knew they were far from complimentary" multiple times.
* It appears to be written in third-person limited narration. The focus switches between Blaire and James, but it feels like there's gaps in story. It's not a smooth transition.
* The term "warrior witches" sounds silly to me.
* James thoughts of romance while trapped seemed odd

Finding the main character, Abdel, boring. The typical over-masculine male who forgets about his father's untimely death rather quickly once faced with a beautiful woman. Lame.

I like Montaron, though. The quick-witted halfling thief. He's fun.
