Slow going so far

Slogging through this and am starting to skim read. Too long and repetitive. I had read the 1st book long ago and decided to continue the series. This will not be happening with the next book

So now I’m making a list of inaccuracies. Though I’m no expert, I don’t think they tipped footmen in the 1790s?

Listening to the audiobook. While I really appreciated the recap given at the beginning (since my memory is swiss cheese), I am 3 chapters in and so lost. I forgot how I really dislike the secrets and lack of communication in these books. But I’m in it for the long haul now I guess
