Pre-review commentary: 1. If I had read this book when I was still learning math in school, I probably would have continued taking math past calculus. Which is to say, this is a very admirable project/product. However: 2. DFW really needs a style editor. 3. He possibly needs a mathematics fact-checker as well.

I'm not sure how unbiased of a history I'm getting, but the book is pretty good nonetheless. Creepy thing about my kindle = it tracks how fast I read.

Will I have the time to finish this 900-page behemoth? Ironically, only time will tell. (Bought the kindle version so as not to be constantly reminded of how slowly I progress.)

Just to be clear: I'm not reading this because I plan on becoming a vegetarian (nor is "converting people" Foer's missive in the first place). More on the subject later.
