This book is about 300 pages too long, most of those filled with depressing and repetitive internal monologues. This is why WhyChoose/RH works so well - you need the slightly crazy one, the golden retriever, the nerdy one, etc., to balance out the mournful, depressed one. This is like wading through treacle and I don't know if I can do another 200 pages of it.

Struggling to get through this, as the FMC is quite infuriating. She's supposedly been 'training' to fight for a decade, but she's still rubbish at it, constantly just flailing around in a rage, apparently has no technique, and yet insists that she IS a fighter and she IS going to get 'vengeance'. It's just tedious at this point, and there's another 200 pages to go

You know what would be reeeally good? If Goodreads and Kindle would get a DON'T Want To Read button, or list, or something that would allow you to stop getting recommendations that you already know you're not interested in for whatever reason...

Sadly, I'm not enjoying this book. The plot is lost beneath pages, and pages, and pages of flowery waffle. Every interaction between the FMC and one of her mates takes a couple of pages at least, and a single intimate encounter takes an entire chapter. The conversations and internal monologues are all getting boringly repetitive. 200 pages in, and they've achieved nothing beyond receiving a visitor. I'm bored now.
