this book has me strung so tight that I have to put it down for the evening lest I never get to sleep. I will say— all those required hum readings (back in the day) have really given me a deeper appreciation for what Kuang is doing here. I think this might be her best one yet

i gotta say im regretting watching the show first because it was so good and the book is def not as good and also enforces odd societal norms at points

there is too much gen z slang in this book 😭 what has literature become

unfortunately I’m a quarter of the way through and I feel as though I can see the future 🔮 I will also not be sparing myself from the predictability of this book but i WILL give it the inevitable 2 or 3 star it is due.

am I allergic to romance now?? or is this just super cheesy? cuz the romance makes me want to vomit. I’m like ok let’s get back to the murder part please!!!!
