Just finished part 2 of this volume which ends with Lavras’ death and funeral procession and it absolutely wrecked me. So beautiful and heartbreaking, even more so as I am about to give birth to my fourth baby. All the feelings! There is much more to be said about this story…

Guilty pleasure read! I’m a SoCal native and grew up watching reality TV including Laguna Beach and The Hills. Spencer came back into my orbit a few years ago with his viral hummingbird videos and then of course more recently since the 2025 LA fires and his outspoken criticism of LA leadership and corruption. So far this book is absolutely hilarious and surprisingly well written.

Going on year 3 of reading through the whole Bible. The goal was to read through it in one year but life and inconsistency. Continuing on and hopeful to get through more of the Old Testament this year. Leviticus and Numbers really stalled me. Halfway through 1 Samuel.

Excellent book full of wisdom and practical advice. I really love seeing parenting from a truly Biblical perspective like this (no ‘spare the rod spoil the child’ here). The chapters are short and I can read them in 5-10 minutes each morning during my quiet time before the kids wake up. It helps me set the tone for my day and gives me encouragement and something to focus on.

This is an, em, interesting book. Funny, bizarre, and a bit disorienting. Not my typical genre and not quite sure how I feel about it yet but going to press on!
