All Sanderson does is explain how shit works in his worlds. There’s no room for anything compelling to happen when we’re busy in niche cosmere stuff, characters I don’t remember, and explaining the lore. I know the end of this book will deliver but I’m SLOGGING to get there. Idgaf about szeth.

I might just be a dipshit but the way of kings is twice as long and half as confusing.

I am fairly new to fantasy and in general I’m enjoying myself but when the flashbacks start running together with the visions (which are also essentially flashbacks) and the alternate worlds start running together with the unrelated interludes (which start being relevant) I get confused.

HES SAYING NOTHING. JORDAN IS SAYING NOTHING. Thousands of pages of what these groups are “going to do” then maybe 2 paragraphs of them doing it. This is such a trudge and without the audiobooks I would’ve bailed like 3 books ago.

I’m at the point where I have no idea who anyone is or what is going on. I am so bored. If not for the audiobooks I never would’ve gotten even this far.

Meandering little odd book that’s not quite horror but real close. Lots of little snapshots of life with unease woven through.

I’m ready to bail.

Robert Jordan is on some 1990s bad stand-up “women are different than men” shit. Over and over and over.

I care about the broad strokes, I want to see where this is all going. BUT GOOD GOD this motherfucker loves to repeat shit and bog you down with details. So much posturing about where people are from or going or what group there in. These books either really GO or really over explain shit I’m going to immediately forget.
