Rochester. 🙄 I’m waiting for him to redeem himself, but so far, it’s not looking too good for him. Jane doesn’t seemed to be fooled by his manipulation or possessiveness, but it doesn’t seem to steer her off either. 🫠 The Brontë sisters were excellent at writing characters full of red flags. 😅

Jane isn’t swayed by upperclass. She observes and pities their unchallenged principles. Rochester is observing her but still allows old patterns to dictate his actions 🚩

I regret to inform you that classic gothic literature might become my new personality.

We’ve got such great character arcs and parallels with inanimate objects (although, I would argue that a garden is not inanimate) in this one! 😍
