The book is giving me Barbie movies energy (the OG animated ones) and it is adding to my enjoyment. The intertwined family drama is also intriguing, where I would normally find such subplots grating.

This has been a hilarious read thus far.

So far, so good! I'm more invested in solving the crime at the moment, but I hope the two leads grow on me eventually.

Both narrators are pretty good, but the story itself is not quite clicking for me...very close to tagging it DNF

Finally made progress with this again, but finishing a chapter led by a character I dislike only to read the next chapter led by another character I dislike is....very unfortunate and demotivating lol. 😭

Ngl I have been reading this with Milathos-colored glasses as an AU and thoroughly enjoying it.
