I have read almost all of Dean Koontz's books. I really enjoy his characters and storylines, and I especially enjoy the way he uses words. I have been reading him on my Kindle and like to look up words in the dictionary on my device. I am pretty good with words and their meaning but he gets me once in a while. This is a good read.

I am not going to finish this one. I gave it a good try but the entire book is filled with "name dropping", Lady This, Princess that. Lord Who, Barron What. Very little, if any, storyline. I am halfway through the book and know not much more about Cecil Beaton than I did when I picked it up. A big waste of time...

I am just not able to get into this book. This is rare for me as I usually finish a book if I begin it. I may go back to this another time but for now, I am putting it back on the shelf.

I am rereading this book for the second time and am enjoying it thouroughly. The plot line is compelling. the supernatural elements are very well written and believable. This book has great character developement. The heros have feet of clay and the villans have a "soft side". It stood up well to a reread many years after the first reading of the book. Excellent!
