Another plucky young girl makes for a good protagonist. I’m not complaining! Fun read so far.

Carl Hiaasen is Carl Hiaasen. I’m never proud of reading these, but I can’t deny the entertainment value.
A little out of my norm to read one bundled in the cold instead of as a mindless beach read, but still enjoyable.
The classic and dated “strange male protagonist having a weird and strained relationship with a woman way out of his league” hasn’t made me close the book yet.

I’m enjoying this, but it is not a page turner for me. It’s not a slog of a read, especially with the short chapters, it’s just not put me into a stranglehold.

I am now fully bought in. Classic Sanderson keeps the pages turning, except this time the book never stops.
I fell asleep again this afternoon reading this, but that was my fault again.

I fell asleep 3 times in the first 70 pages, but that was my own fault. I've been tearing through it since, at least as fast as I could be expected to tear through a book like this.
This is a dense, proper fantasy read, and it's fascinating to see both sides of Brandon sanderson as an author.
Here's to hoping I can finish in the next two weeks before Dragonsteel.

This book is such a slog, but I'm determined to finish it. Maybe by 2024. We'll see. I would not recommend.

I think this puts me somewhere in the early half of the third book. What fun I am having with this! It doesn’t feel nearly as long as the page count makes it seem.

I'm reading a 1975 printing of this which I feel is enhancing the experience.
Again, like I felt while reading Dune, I am feeling that I need to read this multiple times to really understand what I'm reading. By the end I'm sure I will have followed along well enough, but I still wish that I was smarter ( or had some spice-enhanced prescience ha ).
Definitely hard to call a page turner, but I want it to be.
