Joseph Allen is on page 231 of 289 of Black Wealth Through Black Entrepreneurship
This book is a great baseline for understanding black entrepreneurship. It was published in 1993 so some of the companies may be unfamiliar but it’s speaks to successful black companies that I never knew existed. The author does an excellent job with examples, graphs, and creating a story around positive and negative black business experiences.

Joseph Allen is on page 189 of 304 of Late Bloomers: The Power of Patience in a World Obsessed with Early Achievement
This book is amazing. It really identifies a lot of obstacles encountered by the late bloomer. I’m not a very fast reader so I tend to read in 15 minutes sessions. Every session of reading this book I discover something that I currently deal with. Rather it be with my career path or relationship there is always something applicable from this read.

Joseph Allen is on page 124 of 290 of The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness
This book is very eye opening. I really thought I had a general understanding of systemic racism but this book really shows how sophisticated the systems are and how deep they are intertwined not only history but the criminal justice system.
