Just what I was hoping it would be. Set in Burma in an area, Inle Lake, that I love.

Loving the book. It just arrived today.

Just started the book earlier this evening and would stay up late to finish it if I didn't have yoga and Zumba in the morning. I am loving this book.

It is "can't stop reading, but I need to get up and go to Zumba in the morning" good. A page turner!

I'm listening to the book on CDs and finding it absolutely fascinating. It's like listening to a true detective story.

This third book is harder to read and I haven't quite figured out why. The other two were compelling. This one is confusing, but I've promised myself to finish it before leaving for Burma. The book has lovely thick pages and it feels like I'm the only one who has turned them. Sad. It came second hand from a seminary in Maine with a presentation page and article cut out from what looks like a book jacket.

Started listening to the audio version from the library today.

Am taking a quick break from books about Burma to find out my reunion after half a century with a former HS bf compares to what the author found out with her Lost Love project. What feels unusual and unique to the couples in the study certainly isn't according to the author. Hmm. I will read more tonight. Not hard to take a chance on a $1 book (plus postage, of course). I might gain some insights, too.

I'm starting with the essay Shooting an Elephant because it's set in Burma. Then will jump around in the collection.

Beautiful descriptions. More compelling as I dive further into the book.

Just started the book in prep for my second visit to amazing Burma where we actually saw a few long-neck women as well as those from the Shan area. The cover teases are compelling.
