I can appreciate why people love this book, but it’s not for me. It’s a little too much of everything: atmospheric, deep, brooding, confusing and slow. It’s exactly the type of book that often wins significant awards and critics’ acclaim and also doesn’t hold my not-so-deep interest.

Between the excessive use of similes and annoying audiobook narration, I couldn’t go on after only 5%. Sometimes you just know.

Well-written but half way through, I think I had enough.

I just couldn’t continue this book because I found it just so annoying.

I can’t get into this book … maybe this series isn’t for me.

The narrator’s “female” voice is so awful that I can’t continue

It’s interesting but so much detail that it’s a real slow burner. Pick up again another time

Damn. Had to return to the library but will try again later. It’s a little bit of a slog, so it’s hard to stay motivated despite my love for the subject

Im pretty sure this is the Harry Potter prequel.
