I read last section, page 176. This inspired me to read the beginning.

Very fun reading, because he captures the feelings. It reminds me of what it was like learning in first grade 7th grade, and then moving to calculus, abstract algebra, unlimited dimensions calculus, differential equations, functional analysis as math major. (I hated probability and statistics, and managed to avoid them for several decades.)

Fred is on page 3 of 442 of How to Read a Book: The Classic Guide to Intelligent Reading
Just bought my own Kindle copy. My original copy was taking possession of my father's copy after he died back in 1995. I had no idea the book had been significantly revised in 1973.

One of Emy's friends borrowed it, along with a sci-fi novel in the early 2000's. Never returned these two borrowed books. I ended up buying new copies!

Great collection of short stories that I have been pursuing since 2018. With all the talk about AI the stories, even from 1934, "Rex" by Harl Vincent is timely.

I read the first chapter 20210808, then shifted to Penrose's Road to Reality, then to my college analysis and abstract algebra books. In light of Hertog's positive remarks about Greene in his "The Origin of Time" I am coming back to this book by Greene.

My first Matt Scudder story. Block puts me in the head of Matt and keeps the suspense alive. I will end up reading the entire series in the next 10 years or so.
