this is mean but I don’t like one of the two audiobook narrators and she kept mispronouncing asterisk which was distracting. Good book tho

I’m glad this book included a detailed description of the procedure but I read this too soon after getting a Pap smear and now I feel light-headed

I am listening to the audiobook while reading along on my Kindle and I just noticed an error in the narration! The narrator said “pieces” instead of “parts” probably bc “pieces” appeared in the next sentence.

I’m really enjoying both the writing and the narration so far and one incident has already made me feel such intense anger. A good sign

I’m enjoying this so much I forgot to update but I just read a sentence that I cannot process help what does this mean: “When I try to step away, he clamps his thighs around my ribs”

??? How is that possible. They are standing and talking to each other I’m so confused I want to reach out to the authors and demand clarification

Me: I don’t wanna do homework I just want to read

Also me: creates a Note titled “Cultural Anthropology,” starts collecting quotes from this book, and gets excited about connections to the very coursework I’m avoiding

“Nothing is so privileged as thinking history belongs to the past” oof. I wish I could annotate audiobooks. I would want to quote this in my Cultural Anthropology class
