very excited that goodreads rolled out the .25 star rating increment in time for me to read this for class >:)

kinda funny but mainly I am hmmphing and sighing melodramtically

🫩

to quote maggie, there is nothing like a self-reflective 18 year old boy

guys there is so much more left (crying emoji).......the movie def paced everything better. also charlie is already hot but I forgot how sexily stephanie wrote about him, like ooh lala hellooooo mr single father.

conducting some investigative journalism 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️

a tale of passion indeed 😭😭 this whole fiasco is so bonkers

this book is just a comedy of errors with characters that are manifestations of my brain…..feeling too seen but also just what I need rn

oh carrie what are you DOING!!!!!!!

reading this is so funny to me because jonathan harker is the stupidest person alive 😭😭😭 absolutely no self-preservation instincts every weird thing he notices or realizes just makes him go “hmm well let’s just ignore that for rn”

I am once again rereading this! and TIL that new haven is what they call yale 😭😭😭 why did I think fsf just made up a fake ivy but I should have known better….

literally just started and I am reminded that this is a contender for the great american novel……for all their faults, the new critics were right about one thing: southern lit really is the best of american lit!

I will always love hemingway!

actually nvm this is so stupid of her 😭😭😭 get off that cross girl we need the wood!

okay so I get the moral dilemma and I do wish she just stayed but I get why she left bc lowkey I would totally razzled by my fiance admitting he had another wife. and seeing loser rochester throw himself face first onto the couch would have given me the ick. so like good on her but also like stay girl your man needs you!

I lied, this book is kinda a snoozefest now :/ sigh

“the more men you have had, the more I want you” get your freak on winston!!

anyways this book is pretty good. why is that a lot of texts about totalitarianism/fascism lowkey are not super action oriented? this is slower than I thought it would be and also I keep thinking of winston churchill when winston’s name is said

“ ‘Good night, my—‘ he stopped, bit his lip, and abruptly left me.” ROCHESTER!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU TEASE!!!!

literally so good and we haven't even met rochester yet.....sorry for doubting you charlotte

the sense of foreboding is very strong………

I have to admit I love how D.H. was like yea women love losers and men love their mothers........and lowkey he predicted IVF....crazy stuff

“must we see Chicago to feel educated?” erm actually yea I think you do! 🤓☝️

I forgot how shady Oscar was about Americans 😭😭😭

oh yea, this is gonna absolutely rock

drowned in the odour of honeysuckle....quentin 3
