Malachi is starting We Could Be So Good
Just read the first 50 pages and am Aggravated by the publisher description. First of all colleen Hoover meets the seven husbands of some lady???? No….. also the entire plot seems mis described. It’s a good book I’m sick of this marketing trend.

I was unprepared for how much this is about people grieving the loss of a parent. As someone who lost a parent (well both, but not in the same way) at a similarly young age, it is challenging reading.

I cannot stress enough how upsetting I find this cover/spine design. It is actively disturbing to me. I keep staring at it like “is this an anagram? Is this supposed to mean something?” If not, why is it like this? Just to mess with people?

Put this on holy from the library, unsure why. idk somebody must have recommended it? I don't usually enjoy Kleypas? idk I'm bravely giving it a try.

I am loving this book SO much. Jackie Lau’s books pretty much always work for me, but this one is great. Valerie is so prickly and damaged, and tender, she’s frustrated and she wants better for herself but can’t seem to get there. Peter is so fucking NICE. Peter loves love, and he’s excited about falling for Valerie. It’s a great dynamic.

Not really a ton in the way of plot, or much in the way of character development. They're horny! I get it!

Also, this is so trivial, but like, this book was published in 2018 and "gourmet cupcakes" are like..... really prominent. Gourmet cupcakes were over and done with by 2014 at the latest. This is driving me NUTS.

still unclear if this is YA historical fiction or just regular historical fiction. I totally thought it was genre fiction, which was why I'd wanted to read it. Probably fine if you prefer Serious Historical Fiction about Issues.

Agatha Christie is such an annoying conservative, and this book really puts her politics on display, BUT the way she writes the American is hysterical
