chapters 3 and 4 of this book are so much better than chapters 1 and 2 it's not even funny.

i keep having the same issue with this book which is i understand the concept and it is appealing in that way but the execution made it boring.

i expressed myself wrong: the carole one DID follow a storyline, but it was weakly constructed. her abuse was thrown in for drama effects rather than us seing how insidious CSA and specially the violent type of CSA she experienced affects a young girl. and anything relating to her career was clinical and plain uninteresting to read about.
that is what i meant. it was all over the place, also. hated it.

carole's chapter wasn't bad but boring which is worse than bad.
started nowhere, ended nowhere. trauma dumped, didn't follow through, didn't follow any storyline.

i think because they are all short stories somewhat connected but also not, it feels like a never ending book. makes you really tired very fast, trying to keep track of new names being thrown at you every 5 minutes for characters you'll see for two lines and can't connect with

been trying to get done with this book since halfway through last year.

amma chapter was okay.
yazz chapter was excrusiating.
dominique chapter was exquisite so i hope it gets better from here.
