Started this book a few days ago but haven’t had time to keep going (until now). Experienced whiplash going from book one to this installment. Of course it can’t follow the same format, but the sudden thrust into total war was surprising.

Oh I am PISSED

every time I think I have an idea of what is happening a character will mention something and I go “oh ok never mind I know nothing”

I’ll be like wow what an interesting story and then horrified three sentences later, also noting that the people with direct shrike contact have both referenced Beowulf so far

Oh WOW took a few pages to get into it/in the right mindset but by the time the first table discussion began I was hooked, holy moly

that thing ain’t human …

I’m on chapter 3 and just realized the “title” of each chapter has been Evangeline… do we get another POV in this? :O

it’s always a bit odd when a series set in a limited space leaves to enter a larger world, but I think Novak has done a great job. I read the first 80 pages of this book quicker than I read 20 of the last. Ok maybe that’s an exaggeration but it felt like that at times.

the word mislike

It was a really interesting and thrilling read, not at all scary—except for in how realistic this could be.

I keep missing the second 'on' in Bokonon. Need to work on that!
