Gabriel Marcel as an epigraph? An obviously blessed book.

It seems like this--after so many expertly crafted books--is finally going to pull it all together. Crisis of narration, transparency/positivity, the terror of the same/disappearance of "the other," and psycho-politics. It's all leading up to where Marcel saw things going 100 years ago: hope. More precisely, the Spirit of hope.

Malcolm Bull's arguments are architectonic feats. He is a master.

"If one passes from a theory of truth as truth-adequation to one of truth-discovery, then the truth of a great philosophy is more than the internal agreement of its answers to its questions. It is the discovery of the meaning of it's situation, such as it appears to it problematically in the form of a question."

Worthwhile so far. The tarot aspect doesn't actually seem incredibly important. It's more so just this guy's theology, which has it's highs and lows, and the tarot seems to be a jumping-off point, often arbitrarily connected to the theological claims in his work. There's some weird reincarnation and universalism stuff (hence von Balthasar's involvement), but other than that, very edifying.
