Haven't had much time to do personal reading lately, but have been trying to fit in sporadic bursts of reading Fowles where I can. I admit his overly-referential style ("this rock reminded me of this minor character of Greek mythology") is getting a little old, but the story remains very rich and the mystery is very inviting.

Nothing more English than a bit o' the ol' anti-Greek chauvinism.

I'll be disappointed if the "meta" aspect of The Magus is that the titular Magus is the author of the book
