Me, who has been reading this series for years: Stares into camera.

Ofc you're in love with the guy who kidnapped you and wants to maybe kill ya. Though I'm glad the book is heating up now.

Had to peak ahead to see if someone actually was killed. No spoilers for y'all, though.

Well, at least, with the photos and phone, we know the girl is real. At least, I think.

I'm having doubts that the woman they found is really Lo. Also, it must be a Brit thing, but Lo distracts me as a name since there was a Flo in her last book.

Gah, it's getting hard to put down, but I have to for my procedure. Soon, book, soon.

I'm having a hard time with this, because each piece is so dramatic and perfect and gut-wrenching. Totally worth it.

I'm really glad the sexual scene wasn't glorified or eroticized. It just WAS, which fits the worldbuilding and characterisation.

"And he'd already tried so many times to kill me that he could list "attempted murder" under Hobbies on his resume." - omg I'm dying.

I love Vicky sfm.

Another author I love.

IRL I'm a devotee of Dionysus, and so his portrayal in this series always bothered me. Not so much in this one. Here we see more of his depth, his story, and his powers. FINALLY!

I know Percy had to make his way into the party bc he's the titular character, but it really kinda chaffes. Like. the Hunters, ARTEMIS'S Huntets, don't want a demi-god male around. but we all know too much girl power means not enough room for Percy.

But the moo cow sea creature was aforable!

I love this comic! So many quips and quotable exchanges! I remember reading a bit when it was online, so I'm super-geeked to get my hands on the full paper copy.

Tina is one of my favorite characters in the book. There, I said it. She feels like a real, lost, teen, and that makes her fun and refreshing.

I know location is super important to the plot, but geeze all these street and trains and junctions not only confuse me (I don't love in Boston, so they mean nothing to me other than a plot spot), but they start boring me to tears. Gah.

Also, I get Daniel being upset and terrified about what he found, esp since Vicky wasn't exactly forthcoming. Still, I hate this complete dick side of him.

Plot twist!

The familiarity of this series is really comforting as my health deteriorates. Poor Vicky, but I wish I could heal like her. Also poor Maria- I know what it's like to have a mother who doesn't support who you are.

I love this series, I really do. And this first chapter is just another reason why.

So I'm guessing the rest of the book is a bunch of "alternative facts," eh?
