Though I want to believe the author could possibly care about exploited people, the way it talks about women really doesn’t show that at all.

Would benefit from more commas and better word choice
“mentored and groomed,” is an icky sentence. Leaving it at mentored or finding another word would have been better

Trying to convince me that Ryan is dead after he was present for the summer at the beginning of the book, which is in the future, is kind of annoying

Using the phrase “a fish out of water” to describe drowning is certainly a choice

Kennedy is a more understandable character, so I appreciate the perspective change, but I hate all these people and don’t really care what happens to them

A perspective change 142 pages in is certainly a choice

How is Chase looking at his card if he tore it up and threw it away literally two pages ago???

the invitations could have been ordered and then written on, so that’s not the best explanation for that 😬
