Didn't enjoy this one much

I had a hard time sticking to this one and finally dropped it. Maybe one of those "not the right time for this book" things?

I found thus a disturbing and thought provoking discussion by a self described liberal who is also a self declared Christian. Her work appears well researched and cited and I found her research both enlightening and depressing. I sincerely encourage honest and fair people, regardless of where they see themselves on the liberal /conservative spectrum, take the time to read and consider what Dunst has to say.

Interesting take on WWI. The author takes to task the traditional conclusions reached by many historians, and points to systemic and chronic weaknesses in leadership in the French and British military brass. He makes the case that allied assumptions (convictions, really) about the relative rates of casualties between themselves and the Central Powers were consistently wrong, and led to poor decisions and planning.
