Struggling with this author, big time!

I am REALLY struggling with this guy's point of view. And his voice, since I'm listening to his audiobook. I keep getting angry and yelling BULLSH**! But I'm going to keep working through it since people I highly trust have recommended him to me. But wow. I don't think I want to meet this guy.

I want to like this, but I'm not. I'm over 1/3 into it and keep finding excuses to listen to podcasts while I'm driving. It's WONDERFULLY read, this audiobook, it's the only thing that keeps me going. These accomplished actors are saving what is a strangely Political historical saga with narrators who are the arrogant, white privileged, monsters of manifest destiny both then and now. I doubt I'll finish this.
