Struggling to finish this :/

I was so excited for this series and I already know I won't be reading the rest of the trilogy.

I held out hope but I understand why people were disappointed.

But Margaret Atwood is one of the very few people who could disappoint most of her fans and still produce a objectively good book.

The casual remark about sexual harassment is where I am stopping this book. It's not even interesting enough in a bad way.

Not loving it. Not hating it.

Am I the only one who's incredibly disappointed?

I tried. I really wanted to like this. I had such high expectations. Not only can I sense where this is going, it is gorgeous prose painfully detailing every single thought and emotion. I'm struggling to not just skip paragraphs of it. And the pity - oh lord, the pity. I understand the conflict of the main character but I just can't empathise with him.

Maybe I'll do a full review once I'm done with it.

I'm real excited for this one!

I'm still a little underwhelmed. It's good, but no where close to Wild Embers that I adored.

Waiting to be blown away - have high hopes for this one!
