I don’t know anything about Trueman, but I smell a Catholic, or at least a classically educated thinker.
Already he has advocated for Augustine’s garbage hamartiology, and it’s only the second chapter.

A delicious mix of comedy and philosophy, somehow mixing the two into an absurd dialectic that is like a fevered dream - in a good way. It feels vaguely familiar- like some conversations I have in dreams give…they make sense till I wake up and review what’s been said.
Except Chesterton still makes sense when you reflect on what was said.

As per usual with Chesterton, the plot is confusing but intoxicating, even a little irksome.
The descriptions are dizzyingly verbose (or rather, adjectival) but also tangible. Refreshingly not self-serious.
The dialogue is brilliant, weird, and hilarious, as per usual.
The marriage proposal by Mr Moon to Miss Hunt is an absolute masterpiece!
