brilliant writing but much ado about nothing?

Brutal description of old age in women. I mean, sad and right on but, brutal. This is sedate writing, with no rush to plot. I'm interested, but also unsure of what I think. Somewhat reminiscent of Virginia Woolf but not as brainy.

2022 wrapup. It was an interesting year in reading. I read some books I was expecting to be bad (Roth, Stern, Carpenter) and they were, though not uninteresting. My favorites of 2022 were: Either/Or, Interior States, Crossroads, The Poet's House and Me Before You.

Um started out strong but Barrett, you are losing me.

Always watch Ishiguro's narrator's carefully.
