Mr Stevens has to be some kind of sociopath to be so adamant about doing things the way his father or the “best” butler would. Why can’t he just be human or himself? It just seems very robotic and annoying to the people around him. Specifically talking about the part where miss Kenton is feeling tired and he gets offended and decides to end the meetings with her. Or staying quiet about the anti Semitic part…

Very boring, the tone/writing sounds like Sherlock Holmes, or just really posh. Comes off like a book trying to teach you about stoic philosophy while telling you a story that feels irrelevant. Maybe I’ll realize the plot eventually 🤞🏼

Okay interesting. This butler seems to be anti social or just old and not with the times. But I’m excited to see his growth as he drives around the country. Never been to the UK so it’ll be my first time “visiting” hehe
