Borrowed this on a whim from Sam because I forgot to bring a book camping. Got back from camping and found out it's just about to be a movie with Keira Knightly. Weird.

Weird to be reading this as news breaks that the US is bombing Iran again. I'm heartbroken and disgusted by my country. Feeling very aligned with Homa.

God it’s heart wrenching to hear about all the anti-immigration policies that came out of the 1920s while fully knowing we’re about to get into doing that yet again over the next four years. This book is making me feel a little hopeless, which I do not think was it’s intention.
