i love mattie’s descriptions of barn animals like horses and cats… especially pigs.

“[I have known] many more pigs who I believe harbored evil intent in their hearts.”

“All people are insane.”

the ending of the chapter is so wow. sad how people can just use others so easily even after forming a relationship with one another.

“Both jobs felt about the same.”

“why was it that the could never shout like that about anything that mattered?”

“everything faded into mist. the past was erased, the erasure was forgotten, the lie became truth.”

i love this whole passage on thinking. saying absolute truths while telling “carefully constructed lies”. use logic against logic!!

rereading this for the first time since senior year high school :D

NEWT IS SOOOOOOO. he’s crazy himself for saying that and i mean crazy in the best way possible. im both in shock and understanding. i just GET IT.

i started reading this like a month into fall semester, and i just suddenly stopped because school unfortunately got in the way ;-;; now im picking it back up again and i plan on finishing!!

omg also im so scared???? ITS SO MUCH MORE SCARY THAN I THOUGHT. the simplest things too. dr. jacobson just watching thiago through the window was enough to give me chills like that is TERRIFYING.

part 3 had me in awe. diane coming to see thiago. dr. jacobson? all wild. and the ending was crazy too. im so interested to see how this ends ;-;;

wow. just WOW. i started this part being all “where does the dog on the cover come into play?” and not even five pages later we meet brimley. this part altogether tore me apart, put me back together, all just to tear me to shreds yet again. it was such an experience i can’t wait to read moreeee.

THE WAY I GASPED AND IMMEDIATELY STARTED CRYING I AM NOT. OKAY.

BROOO. i sped thru this whole series within like a month, and once spring semester started i never got to finish the last few chapters of the last book ;-;; now a year later im trying to pick it back up and finish because me a year ago from now would be SO HAPPEEE!!!

im HOOKED. the thoughts, the emotion, the storytelling. it’s all so captivating to me. im taking a break before getting into part 2, but just know that i love it so far :)
