I’m so enjoying this book. Maybe because I relate to this season of life. It’s an emotional ride, though. My heart keeps getting smashed as I simultaneously laugh so hard I’m tearing up. I had to take a reading break!

I didn’t finish it because it was a little heavy for me, but it was very interesting and well done!

I'm on Chapter 4 and am already loving the voice and characters in this book. I also ordered the Dial A for Aunties sequel! I really enjoy this author!

Chapter 4 on privilege was really eye opening. As awareness of my privilege grows, so does my empathy. I love the ideas about how we can use our privilege to advocate for folks who may not have those same advantages, so they can more easily participate and be heard.

I read this in high school or early college and I remember just loving it. I've had the copy on my shelf all these years and I'm so excited to read it again!

It's definitely Jane Austen-esque humor. I've already laughed quite a few times. Glad for this suggestion for a light holiday read!

This book is heartbreakingly intense - the evils of war. I'm going to push myself to finish it because, even though it's a novel, I am learning more about the true ugliness of war and how we dehumanize our perceived enemies. Khadavi must have had to do some gut-wrenching research. I'm going to need some infusion about the good side of humanity after reading this - it's so sad...

Gave up on this one. Couldn't deal with the awful ways the teenagers were living - made me too sad. I really enjoy reading for getting a hit of reality that's not my own, but sometimes it's just too much.

Rereading this and remembering why it is an absolute literary classic. Taking my students to see the play this month!
